A Brief Background to Naval Nagpal, Director of Shivron Care Home Ltd t/a Buttercup House Care Home
Commenced training as chartered accountant in 1976 with Robson Rhodes, a top 10 international City firm of chartered accountants. Subsequently moved into financial services, initially with Abbey life Assurance and then setting up own practice as registered independent Financial adviser, specialising in investments and finance. Further developed and ran an events-based bakery and property development company.
Purchased and set up family run dementia residential care home in Woolston, Southampton in 2012. This really was the turning point of my life when I came to realise, as a family we wished to be involved in the care and well being of vulnerable adults in our society. This was at a time when many were leaving the care sector due to new stringent legislative regulations and guidelines being implemented.
In fact, this brought a certain realisation that as a care home provider and working with local Authorities we could assist and be party to a process and system that would much improve care in nursing and care homes and also assist providers to achieve this in a financially viable and continuous manner.
As a proud member representative of Hampshire Care Association, it provides me with the perfect platform to work with other providers and professionals on the executive board. This also allows us to achieve great care in our homes and at a price that represents the genuine hard work that providers are expected to input to achieve the required outcomes.
