Job Description:

We are looking for kind and caring people to join the team as Senior Health Care Assistants, to provide the best in dedicated care at our wonderful Nursing and Residential Care Home in Brockenhurst.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Providing high standards of physical and emotional support and care to our residents
  • Support with residents everyday living tasks but with tailored, people centre approach, dependant on each individuals needs
  • Supporting residents to be as active and independent as possible, doing your utmost to help encourage residents to get involved in daily activities at the home
  • Assist Deputy Manager and Registered Nurses with the assessment, planning, implementation and monitoring of resident’s care and care plans, in line with both CQC and our homes guidelines
  • Competently assess resident’s health and wellbeing on daily basis
  • Competently administrate medication in line with the NICE guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with staff, residents and their families and visiting professionals within the limits of competency and confidentiality
  • Helping to maintain high levels of rapport with both residents and fellow team members
  • Accurately record and maintain resident records, including risk assessments, daily notes and care plans ensuring compliance with CQC, relevant legislation, and in line with The Wilverley Association policies and procedures
  • Assist in providing day to day supervision of Health Care Assistant team
  • Assisting with training and development of existing team and new starters
  • Reporting any wellbeing/safeguarding concerns
  • Have the knowledge and expertise to take a supporting role in emergency situations
  • Ensuring the home is kept clean, tidy and safe

What we are looking for:

  • Experience working as Health Care Assistant (previous experience in a Senior HCA role is not necessary but would be preferred)
  • Level 3 qualified or willing to work towards achieving this
  • Caring and compassionate personality, with a passion to help others in a safe manner
  • Initiative to work alone but also a team player
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
