Visosport
Visosport is a brand-new sport, created to make sport and physical activity inclusive and engaging for everyone. We run sessions for residents in care homes and service users at adult disability centres.
We have designed 35 interactive games for care homes. Residents play 6 of these games at each session, seated around around a table. The games challenge them to problem solve, socially interact, have a laugh and have fun. The variety of games also help to maintain aerobic capacity and strengthen muscles through a range of realistic movements. However, residents are so focused on playing, they forget they are exercising. It’s “Exercise that doesn’t feel like exercise”.
We assign our Facilitators to Care Homes to run an engaging session to residents on a weekly, every other week or monthly basis. They are trained to engage residents, whatever their level or capacity. We encourage care home staff to join in with sessions, as it’s a great way to enhance lasting bonds with residents by sharing warm memories that they will be talking about through the week. We engage residents with various levels of dementia, through patience. Our range of games, both extend the more confident residents and offer success to those with challenges, leading to smiling faces all round.
